DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The Catawba College women's golf team is in action at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial hosted by North Georgia this week, teeing off at Achasta Golf Club on Monday morning.
The Team
- The Catawba Indians look to improve upon their 11th-place finish at the season-opening Eckerd Invitational
- Hannah Waddell started the season with a breakout performance that concluded with a career-best 74 in the third round, helping her place in the top half of the field
- Mary-Paige King began the tournament strong with a 77-78 card on Day 1, but fell down the leaderboard in the final round
- Sara Kristinsdottir shared the same final score with King as the Icelandic sophomore went a consistent 81-77-80

The Field
- Half of the 16 participating teams were ranked in the latest Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll, plus an additional four who earned votes
- The group is headlined by South Atlantic Conference rival No. 2 Wingate who received nine of a possible 15 first-place votes to trail top-ranked Findlay by just seven points
- Fellow SAC representatives include No. 5 Anderson, Carson-Newman and Lincoln Memorial
- The only out-of-region program in attendance is No. 23 UMSL; in the spring, the Tritons finished 14th at the NCAA Championship
