ROCK HILL, S.C. — After stellar play in a 2-1 week for the Catawba College women's volleyball team, junior libero Riley Hill was named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Hill led the conference with 60 digs last week, averaging 6.67 per set, to help the Catawba Indians pick up a pair of SAC sweeps at home. The Salisbury, N.C., product stacked 27 digs, one shy of her season high which came in a five-set match, in Saturday's 3-0 takedown of Tusculum. Hill also registered a perfect serving percentage in the three-match week, delivering two aces while going errorless in 42 serves.

On the year, Hill is the SAC's most prolific player in the digs department with 5.18 per stanza to rank 22nd nationwide.

The weekly award is Catawba's first this season and marks the fourth of Hill's career.

The Catawba Indians are back on the court tomorrow (Oct. 21) against Newberry at Goodman Arena. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
