Charlotte, N.C. —- The Catawba College women's swimming team concluded action at the Kellianne Nagy Fall Frenzy Invitational on Sunday, finishing sixth out of 10 teams in an event loaded with Division I and high-achieving Division II competition.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1650-Yard Freestyle
- Fiona Byrne turned in a third-place finish in the women's 1650 Free with a 17:02.05 time, good for a B-cut
- Ella Gutenwik and Danielle Meinema also had top-eight finishes in the 1650 Free with marks of 17:15.08 and 17:19.49, respectively
100-Yard Freestyle
- Marit Reckmann posted a sixth-place finish in the women's 100 Free final, clearing the B-cut threshold with a time of 50.34
200-Yard Breaststroke
- Sydney McKenzie finished as the runner-up and the top Division II finisher in the championship final with a 2:15.99 mark, good for an NCAA B-cut
- Gabi Moll added a spot in the championship final in the 200 Breast, taking seventh with a mark of 2:18.75, punching her B-cut
400-Yard Freestyle Relay
- Catawba's 400 Free relay team of Eniko Onofer, Reckmann, Sydney Peterson and Meinema posted a sixth-place finish in the final event of the weekend with a B-cut qualifying time of 3:24.94
