CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – For the second straight year, the Catawba College women's golf program has received the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team GPA Award thanks to an impressive performance in the classroom.
The Catawba Indians recorded a 3.677 GPA during the 2024-25 academic year to stack up 21st nationwide and lead all South Atlantic Conference teams; Lincoln Memorial also represented the SAC with a 3.658 GPA while slotting 22nd. A league-high five members of the squad – Taya Buxton, Rachel Carlson, Mary-Paige King, Sara Kristinsdottir and Valentina Moran – were named WGCA All-American Scholars back in June.
The WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award is given to the women's collegiate golf program with the highest collective average team GPA. The top 25 teams with the highest team GPA for Division I, Division II and Division III, and the top 10 teams for NAIA are also honored. The full release published by the WGCA can be found HERE.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition.
