Richmond, Va. —- The Catawba College women's swimming team claimed the top grade point average among Division II women's swim programs for the sixth consecutive semester, as both Catawba teams earned team Scholar All-America recognition from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced Thursday morning.
Catawba's women posted a 3.87 team GPA as a team, which was tied with Lynn University for the best mark among swim programs in the country in Division II. The mark extends Catawba's unprecedented streak atop the nation in team GPA to a sixth straight semester, dating back to the fall of 2022.
On the men's side, the Catawba Indians registered an impressive 3.72 team GPA, which ranked second in the country behind Fairmont State's mark of 3.76.
The success in the classroom for Catawba Swimming mirrored their historic season in the pool, where both teams finished in the top 16 at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Indianapolis.
