Winston-Salem, N.C. — The Catawba College men's track and field team returned to action in the 2026 calendar year at the Mondo College Invite hosted at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, highlighted by Victor Smith's first-place finish in the 60-meter dash.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Long Jump
- Jayden Bennermon picked up a sixth-place finish in the men's long jump, touching 6.68 meters
60-Meter Dash
- Smith set the new fastest time in the country in Division II in the indoor 60-meter dash with a meet-record 6.63-second mark
- Miles Stephens added a fifth-place finish with a blazing 6.90-second mark
3K Run
- James Shue turned in an 8:34.44 time in the 3K run, good for a sixth-place finish in the field
High Jump
- Bennermon made it two top-six finishes on the day with a fifth-place finish in the high jump at 1.93 meters
- Marcus Hurley joined him with a top-10 finish in the men's high jump, placing seventh with a reach of 1.88 meters
200-Meter Dash
- Stephens and Smith finished side-by-side in the 200-meter dash at fifth and sixth
