Winston-Salem, N.C. — The 16th-ranked Catawba College men's track and field team broke three school records fall on Saturday at the JDL ASICS Sound Invite in Winston-Salem, including record-breaking marks in the weighted throw, 3K and the mile.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Long Jump
- Chris Brown was the runner-up in the men's long jump, reaching a leap of 6.67 meters
- Donaven Brown was right behind him, placing third with a jump of 6.47 meters
- Mason Kuhneman was the third Catawba Indian to place in the top six in the event with a leap of 6.34 meters
400-Meter Dash
- Jeremiah Hines finished first in the seeded men's 400-meter dash with a time of 48.70
- Kengel Christopher placed eighth
3,000-Meter Run
- Will Lyons broke the school record in the men's 3K, clocking a run of 8:17.61
High Jump
- Nammaurion Koontz placed third in the men's high jump with a leap of 1.82 meters
Weighted Throw
- Jacob Scannell broke the school record in the men's weighted throw, tossing 13.31 meters
Triple Jump
- Chase Brown and Albert Davis had top-eight placings in the men's triple jump with marks of 13.86 meters and 11.96 meters, respectively
200-Meter Dash
- Christopher had another top finish in the seeded 200-meter dash, finishing in 22.33 seconds
One-Mile Run
- Seth Caudill broke the school record in the mile, crossing the line in 4:05.13
