#10 Men’s, Women’s Swimming compete in day one of Emory Last Chance Invite

Atlanta, Ga. — The 10th-ranked Catawba College men's and women's swimming teams competed at the Emory Last Chance Invite in order to better their times in preparation for the NCAA Division II National Championships in March.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Women's 50-Yard Freestyle

- Clara Campo raced to a 24.20 mark in the Women's 50 Free

Women's 100-Yard Butterfly Time Trial

- Eniko Onofer set the fastest time in the conference in the Women's 100 Fly, stepping up to the 11th-fastest time in the country

Women's 200-Yard Freestyle Time Trial

- Fernanda Regina set a personal-best in the Women's 200 Free with a mark of 1:50.05

Women's 200-Yard Breaststroke Time Trial

- Mahee Gory-Lauret moved into the top 20 in the country with her time in the Women's 200 Breast – 2:16.66

Men's 50-Yard Freestyle

- Matt Howard finished first in the Men's 50 Free with a time of 20.21

Men's 200-Yard Backstroke Time Trial

- George Fykatas matched his school record time in the Men's 200 Back with a mark of 1:45.58

Men's 200-Yard Butterfly Time Trial

- Cameron Watson set the school record with a time of 1:46.23 in the Men's 200 Fly, jumping up into the top 15 times in the country

- Lassi Niemi also set a personal-best in the 200 Fly, reaching the wall in 1:47.89
