Rock Hill, S.C. — Catawba College senior Madi Clay was named WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
 
Clay broke the school record in the indoor 5K with a mark of 16:45.58 at the JDL ASICS Last Chance Invitational on Saturday.
 
The decorated athlete is in top form heading into next week's SAC Indoor Championships, where she finished as the runner-up in the 5K as a sophomore in 2024.
 
Catawba takes on the league championships Feb. 28 and March 1.
