Winston-Salem, N.C. —- The Catawba College women's track and field team set its highest finish in program history at the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem on Sunday with a third-place finish. Mandi Pollard earned SAC Freshman of the Year and Head Coach Jason Bryan was named the Women's Coach of the Year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
One-Mile Run
- Eden Barnwell was the runner-up in the women's one-mile run with a mark of 5:02.40
- Natalie Almond and Emer Mcglynn finished side-by-side at sixth and seventh, respectively
400-Meter Dash
- Letsi Burgos placed sixth in the women's 400m dash at 58 seconds flat
60-Meter Dash
- Efe Egberi turned in a sixth-place finish in the women's 60m dash at 7.72 seconds
800-Meter Run
- Mandi Pollard finished as the SAC runner-up in the women's 800 with a time of 2:13.28
- Barnwell placed eighth in the event
Shot Put
- Lilly Wolf placed seventh in the women's shot put with a heave of 11.32 meters
3,000-Meter Run
- Madi Clay followed up with a podium finish in the women's 3K with a third place finish after a time of 9:52.10
- Hannah Caudill was sixth, breaking 10 minutes with a mark of 9:58.42
4x400-Meter Relay
- Catawba's 4x400 relay team of Burgos, Skylar Southern, Brooke Rediger and Egberi placed fourth with a time of 3:52.20
