Kingsport, Tenn. —- The 10th-ranked Catawba College men's swimming team set a South Atlantic Conference record and made program-firsts on Wednesday at the opening day of the South Atlantic Conference Men's Swimming Championships at the Kingsport (Tenn.) Aquatic Center.

FINALS
1000-Yard Freestyle
- Nazar Herashchenko successfully defended his SAC title in the Men's 1000 Free, clearing the field by nearly 10 seconds to cruise to a win with a mark of 9:05.89
- Lincoln Council earned a spot in the championship final, placing eighth with a time of 9:33.69
200-Yard Individual Medley
- Jules Remy broke the South Atlantic Conference record en route to claiming his first career SAC title in the Men's 200 IM, finishing nearly three seconds ahead of the rest of the field with a meet-record 1:47.18
- Cameron Watson turned in a fourth-place finish in the championship final with a mark of 1:51.60
Men's 50 Freestyle
- Maks Minichowski placed as the runner-up in the Men's 50 Free, just 12 hundredths of a second behind the conference champion
- Matt Howard also earned a podium finish with a 20.25-second effort
- Ryan Case was the third Catawba Indian to qualify for the championship final in the event, touching the wall in 20.34
200-Yard Medley Relay
- Catawba's 200 Medley relay team of George Fykatas, Minichowski, Case and Howard became the first SAC title relay team in Catawba Men's Swimming history in the final event of the night, besting Wingate's team by seven-tenths of a second for the conference win
- The group posted a time of 1:28.03
