Blacksburg, Va. — The 16th-ranked Catawba College men's indoor track and field team saw two more school records get broken as the team closed up this weekend's action across the Doc Hale Invitational and the Camel City Invite.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doc Hale Invitational
200-Meter Dash
- Victor Smith and Jermiah Hines were the top Division II finishers in the Men's 200-meter dash, placing fourth and fifth overall
- Anthony Holden, Jaden Chambers and Au'Wann Gary weren't far behind, placing 11th, 12th and 14th
Distance Medley Relay
- The Men's DMR team set a school record in the event, nearly breaking 10 minutes with a run of 10:01.71
4x400-Meter Relay
- Catawba's men's 4x400 relay team threatened to beat Virginia Tech's relay team at their home meet with a mark of 3:18.20
High Jump
- Namaurion Koontz was the top Catawba finisher in the men's high jump, tying for eighth with a leap of 1.96 meters
Triple Jump
- Jayden Bennermon placed sixth in the men's triple jump, topping athletes from the likes of Gardner-Webb and Charlotte with a leap of 14.55 meters
JDL Camel City Distance
5,000-Meter Run
- Michael Martinez and Tyler Davis turned in top-20 finishes in the men's 5K, placing 13th and 17th, respectively
