Evansville, Ind. — The Catawba College men's and women's swimming teams both put forward All-American performances at the NCAA Division II National Swimming Championships in Evansville on Tuesdays in the 800 Free Relays.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Women's 800 Free Relay
- Catawba's team 800 Free Relay team of Marit Reckmann, Fernanda Regina Pera Dos Santos, Ella Gutenwik and Danielle Meinema broke a school record and placed seventh nationally with a mark of 7:19.77
- The placing was good for a First Team All-America performance, the first in the career of Regina Pera Dos Santos, Gutenwik and Meinema
Men's 800 Free Relay
- The men's 800 Free Relay team of Cameron Watson, Sammer Abdallah, Lassi Niemi and George Fykatas placed 12th, while also breaking a school record in the event, with a time of 6:31.47
- The mark was good for a Second Team All-America performance, the second consecutive year Catawba claimed All-America in the 800 Free relay
