Evansville, Ind. — The Catawba College men's swimming team saw three of its student-athletes earn All-America honors at the NCAA Division II Swimming National Championships on Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
PRELIMS
200-Yard Individual Medley
- Jules Remy punched his ticket to the Championship B final in the Men's 200 IM with a swim of 1:46.09, good for a 14th-place finish
50-Yard Freestyle
- Maks Minichowski was in a dead-heat for eighth in his first swim of the 50 Free prelims with a 19.67-second run; he fell just short in a swim-off to fall to the Championship B final
FINALS
1,000-Yard Freestyle
- Nazar Herashchenko broke a school record in the Men's 1000 Free en route to a fifth-place finish in the National Championships and First Team All-America accolades with a mark of 9:00.78
200-Yard Individual Medley
- Remy maintained his 14th-place finish from the prelims in the 200 IM final with a mark with 1:46.24, good for Second Team All-America
50-Yard Freestyle
- Minichowski placed 11th in the Men's 50 Free with a mark of 19.77 seconds adding his first All-America honor of the week with Second Team honors
